The best foods to boost your immune systemWe’re still in the middle of flu season, so you should be aiming toward boosting your immunity to ward off potential illness. The best way to do this – and the most delicious way – is to consume colorful foods, and the more colorful the better. The more colorful foods you eat, the greater the variety of nutrients you will ingest, which will go a long way in boosting your immunity.

Unfortunately, the typical Western diet doesn’t offer many colorful options, which is why the risk of illness is so high. Therefore, when picking meals to eat, think of adding a variety of colors onto your plate rather than your typical beiges and brown.

It is important to note that not all brown or more neutral color foods are bad for you. Take nuts or garlic, for example. These items are healthy for you but not as colorful as peppers or oranges.

Even when choosing spices, you can think of color. For example, turmeric is a great spice to add to many meals, which is vibrant in color. Paprika, chili, and ginger are all excellent immunity-boosting spices to try and incorporate into your diet.

If boosting your immune system is a priority for you, then aim to eat colorful foods throughout the day to ensure you are receiving a slew of different vitamins and nutrients.
