But how do you know if you are currently living with inflammation in your body? You may want to look for these seven signs.
7 Signs of Inflammation
Pain: Living with inflammation will have you living in pain, especially in the joints, more so when you try to move.
Swelling: You may notice that your affected joints are swollen. This occurs when more blood is heading to that area.
Spongy feeling joints: If you try and squeeze an inflamed joint, it will feel somewhat spongy. This is quite common in rheumatoid arthritis.
Stiffness: Swollen joints become stiffer. This is a natural response as the body tries to splint the joint so it doesn’t move.
Redness: Inflamed joints may appear reddish, and red joints may be a sign of infection or gout.
Warmth: Inflamed joints will feel warm, and inflammation caused by bacteria will feel the warmest. In all types of arthritis, there is always a slight temperature change.
Slow movements upon awakening: Your mornings may be the worse time of day for movement, so you move slowest after waking up.
If you experience any of these symptoms, especially in combination with each other, speak to your doctor about the possibility of an arthritis diagnosis.
